Gary Snyder Gallery is pleased to announce Patrick Strzelec, an exhibition of sculptures at 529 West 20th Street. Opening on June 20, 2013, the exhibition is the artist’s first in New York in over a decade. Seven of the artist’s meticulously crafted mixed media sculptures will be on view, as well as a selection of preparatory drawings. A fully illustrated catalogue will accompany the exhibition, with an essay by Jenny Moore.
Over the past three years, Strzelec has created a remarkable body of abstract sculpture in an incredibly diverse range of materials—aluminum, ceramic, epoxy, plaster, steel, and wood, to name a few. Works in the exhibition such as Playin’ the Ink (2012), Smoke Rings (2013), and Block Head (2013) demonstrate Strzelec’s mastery of these materials.
