Matthew Palladino

Garth Greenan Gallery is pleased to announce, Matthew Palladino, an exhibition of paintings at 529 West 20th Street. Opening on Thursday, May 22, 2014, the exhibition is the artist’s first solo-exhibition in a New York gallery. Eight of the artist’s brightly colored, meticulously painted works will be on view, as well as a selection of related drawings.

Palladino’s recent paintings are made from life-sized casts of found objects. Things as seemingly disparate as handcuffs, banana-scented flytraps, and ice cream sprinkles are carefully reproduced in plaster and then hand-painted in brilliant, matte acrylics.
